Ok, advice. I am not entering any contests. I want something easy. What smoker for this scenario? What to do before I start my day? We load up the pontoon with everything but the kitchen sink about 11am. We pack sandwich tortilla roll ups and lots of chips and fruit for late lunch. Did I mention copious amounts of beverage. (We must stay hydrated.) We stay on an island beach until late afternoon/early evening. When we get back to the cabin, we are sunburned, twisted, hungry, and tired. What are easy options to have supper ready on such occasions. I am not in a contest. We probably don't care how scrumptious it is. Solutions? Suggestions? I am preparing for next summer.

I would say a pellet grill for sho! You don't have to tend to it and you set the temp and go. You could put a pork butt on that bad boy and it should be done when you get back. All you have to do is prep the pork before you put it on the smoke. You could put an internal probe in the pork and monitor from your phone. Green Mountain tailgate model has this option. Davy Crockett I believe.

It's got a digital thermometer that keeps temp +/- 1o degrees. Love that thing.
