If districts would have the huevos to take cell phones out of the school house it would help. We have one to one chromebooks here, no need for cell phones. Our policy is off and out of sight from 7:55-3:54. I wish we would just have a standard policy that says no cell phones at school. Unfortunately, I don't make policy. We were 1:1 at my previous district which helped considerably with phone usage. Here at mega big school district, it's impossible to enforce a decent cell phone policy.

Cellphone policy in place if it is violated the phone is confiscated and parent has to come pay $10 to get it back. If the student refused to surrender the device, the SRO is called and they recieve ISS and a legal citation for disruption of the a school.
