It is that time of year again….Bats are migrating back to Mexico. We have a couple of very large caves in our area that attract very large numbers of bats.
A bat on the ground are most often sick with rabies.
If you pick up a bat or are bitten by a bat be sure to notify your local health officials.
Rabies is a disease if contracted is 99.9% fatal.
If you need to dispose of a bat please utilize a utensil of some sort to dispose of the bat. Do not touch it with your bare hands.
PLEASE talk to school age children and remind them NOT to pick up or touch a bat!!
