Curious to find out what some of y'all do in the classroom. I do a combination of things. I teach a core subject, and it's upper level, so I do a bunch of group work after I have shown them how to solve the problem. (What the equation is, what the symbols are, what the units are, and how to manipulate it for other variables) It's a lot like practice, to be honest. Small group into big group. Lot's of reps to get it right. I also use the chromebooks some, do class projects, labs, etc.
I need to do more 'google form' stuff that auto grades. Suggestions???

Well, Stud, I've got the problem solve and think for yourselves thing down to a t. I preach that in my classroom. That's why we don't do a lot of the google stuff. There's times that I do, like for research purposes when we create power points, but mostly it's repetition and learning the equations inside out.

stud is out of the game...but according to mrs stud, if you're not teaching kids how to problem solve and think for themselves, you are killing the future... so basically everything we have done for 20 years is wrong...point taken...good to know...

I’m not disagreeing with you and your wife...kids today can’t think for themselves...we teach them not to think for themselves....

When I was in Alice, I had the students "mop the floor" in the gym as an OFI. We had a mom call the principal and complain that I had her baby doing janitorial work.

Preview texts to make sure they specifically align with the TEKS(S) I'm covering, I do the majority of assignments to assign to anticipate potential issues/questions, relevant lecture/discussion to the demographics of my students, level texts for differentiation of special pops. Model, model, model.

I mainly get on here and ignore my students and hope that they won't bother me too much.
