All depends on what your goals are. I have worked at big schools and small ones. Different headaches at each one. I would never go back to a big school (6A) again though. Just my opinion. Has anyone else noticed that the big schools are very incestual only hire big school guys or college guys. Tough for small school guys to get to that level I've noticed. I'm wondering the same. I've never been big school, but am trying to get my foot in for this next year. I included my participation in a state championship in my introductory email, but I'm kinda worried about it sounding dooshey. Doing anything to set myself a part, such as playing college ball.

I really don't think it was that dooshey, but felt it needed to be included in a first email to show that I know my sh!t (at the time when we went on that run, I didn't, but learned so dam much from it and my years thereafter). I want a new challenge.

There you go kid, you know what you got and you know that you can continue to learn. Keep selling yourself and it will happen. A guy on our staff was asking me if I am being discouraged by not hearing much back yet on the DC jobs I have applied for. I told him if it is meant to be it will happen, and whet I have to hope for is someone sitting down with me, my resume has a gap from when I went to the oil patch and I think that throws people off. so i have started to add more than a couple letters of recommendation in hopes of gaining attention.

I was kinda down this morning bc our counselor (good friend) asked if I had heard anything. I know it's still a little early bc contracts haven't gone out yet but I'm trying to not let it get me down. I've been praying like crazy to figure out what direction I need to go. We'll see how it goes....

I told my wife I would set a date of May 1 to make a decision of where I am going to be. If nothing comes in by then we stay where we are.

you tell her. whip up that dinner woman. No, it's more out of respect for her since she does not work in education and these last few years are her only experience with the work in education field. She has had difficulty understanding that we may have to move a few times.
