I tried outside sales after I got out of the patch and before I came back to coaching. I had to do cold calls and hated it, and I wasn't selling a commodity. I was selling air compressors, shat no one needed unless theirs was broken. Hated cold calls trying to tell someone how this new model will save them money in five years if they just spend $27K with me today. I hated the a$$ kissing to guys who you could tell were complete nozzles but they had that manager title because they sucked the boss off.

I did well selling the compressors, in 3 months I sold something like $95K in systems and that was not knowing a d@mn thing about them. I just hated with a passion dealing with c*nts. I had a service manager ask me one time when I was going to take him and the general manager to lunch. I replied, "When you buy something more that $13.50 air filters from me." He laughed and thought I was joking.
