Pipers beat Wellington last night 21-18 in what many fans have called one of the greatest games they have ever seen.
Pipers will match up with Albany in a rematch of the district title game on Thursday night in what will be standing room only as this may be the most anticipated playoff game between Big Country opponents in decades.
Albany scored with one minute left in the first matchup to steal the victory......after taking a 21 point lead in the first half......
That start for the Lions won’t happen again.
Pipers 28 Lions. 14
You heard it here first.

Will be in the HOF someday imho One of the longest tenures in coaching.....has to be. He was coaching Albany when I was a sophomore and they beat us 14-2 in the district title game before going in to play Shulenburg for the state title. That was a h3ll of a team by the way. Some good vaulters in that district....maybe the toughest vaulting district in the state.

OF had 3 over 15 foot? One year. One kid had to be JV. Yes.....that was not in ‘91. We had five guys over 14 feet if I remember correctly..... It was a h3ll of a district meet..... OF had two guys over 17 and the 16-6 guy stayed at home after the district meet. I had many competitions over the years with Wayne Guidry and Jacob Davis both from OF and both Texas Longhorns. Me and Jacob were both selected on the High School All American Team in ‘94.....and Jacob was a SOPH
