Anyone done this recently? If so, how much if any did you negotiate price down? Been reading a lot and am seeing people say that prices dont come down much if any. Say its because internet has forced dealerships to pretty much advertise the best price they are willing to give. Not sure how true this is though.
Also, I understand that they will fook you on the trade in, but I will be trading in a 2018 with 15,000 miles on it. Any advice?

They are going to offer you "fair condition value" for your trade in, and sale you a truck at "excellent condition value". They well offer you approx $7,000 below what they are going to turn around and list your trade in for.

True...I've heard that car salesmen make their money on used cars, more so than the new cars.

Yes I did
Walked in with a 15 year old truck and they opened with a 1500 dollar trade in value and I said 'who the fook is that guy' and told them they could shove it. After a second attempt they only raised it 500 bucks so I got up to walk out and miraculously the price just kept climbing. I pushed it to 2850 and decided we were good there as I thought I could maybe get 3k on trade. As far as the price of the truck it was pretty well set due to, like you said, internet screwing it up. I did get them to fix the tint and clean up some things I wouldnt take it for and its a great truck.
The thing I did really mess with is the APR. Started at 4.5 and I again told them to fook off and got up to leave and again it went plunging. After all was said and done I got it to 3.5, probably could have kept pushing but I'd been there 4 hours and didnt think I could get much more.
I could have done better probably but it was pretty good all in all. Truck prices are ridiculous now a days. I bought my truck 15 years ago for 18k and now trucks like that go for almost 30.

Almost all prices I have seen are about 33,000 for one of these with 30,000 miles or so. Really wanna knock it down a a little bit though...maybe 32,000??? Not sure if its realistic though..

No but I got a truck that is valued at 33 for 28. It had been sitting on the lot for a good while and they were trying to get rid of it. I didnt try too hard to haggle on the price as it was well below what it was worth. I'm sure if you use the fook off and walk out approach they will try to stop you with something.

Cool. I really gotta see what they will give for trade in. I have heard stories of dealerships not coming down on price of used vehicle, but offering you more for your trade in...guess it looks better on their books or something

A: download the carguru app....that will show the best deal around.... 2: don't tell them you are trading anything in, get their best price first.... III: if you really want to spend some time on it, go to a few other dealerships first, negotiate for your trade......take their best offer and add $500-$1,000 to it.....then go in and follow step 2....after they give you their best price tell them you decided to trade in your current truck....then tell them you want that number for it.... you'll probably get a better deal if you can convince some ol gal to go in there with you and pretend you're straight too...lol!!!

About to add another work truck to the fleet. Have always had Chevrolet trucks. Since they are moving production to Mexico thought I would look at Ford F 250s. Wow Really nice over 80 grand. Work truck package still over 50

TURNS out there is a reason 90% of the trucks used by oilfield service companies are Ford...they last.
