I currently work at a 4A school in Central Oklahoma and I have a few questions I want to ask you guys. I want to make sure I’m not being over dramatic.
1. How frequent does admin come to your classroom.
2. How much do they nit pick on things like objectives being on the board, submitting lesson plans, etc.
3. How harsh are they on your evals/walkthroughs?
II have someone from admin in my room atleast once a week. They will come in during the last 10 minutes of class and give you negative marks if what you are talking about doesn’t align with your objectives on the board. An example was I was giving a test on a Friday and the kids finished, so we were looking at home prices in different areas of the state. I teach senior personal finance but the unit I was on was about housing. If you want to show a video you have to send it in for approval and justify how it benefits your students. They take the whole teaching bell to bell thing to heart here. I’m no teacher of the year, but I’m not the guy who watches film at the desk while the kids screw around. I work pretty hard in the class, but I feel like this is ridiculous. I’ve just about ran out of patience with the admin here. It isn’t a me problem, they do this with everyone.

sounds like its time to leave that school. This admin sounds like they are not concerned about anything but exerting their power and making sure you know you are a subordinate. Sounds toxic

Some, but just to talk to a student about detention. 2. Never 3. Never I coached with the Principal of my building so that helps. But the princy before him was good to coaches too.

I am at a 2A-1 School and have been at 4A and 5A schools in the past. All are the following: 1. Only when they need something or I get observed 2. I have never had an issue with that 3. I've only had one be harsh on me and that was my first year ever teaching. I've been pretty much left alone and allowed to do my own thing. I teach Physical Science, Physics, and Chemistry currently and have taught math and Earth Science in the past as well.

I teach 4. Have a jhigh and high school coaching period and one plan. 2 preps world history and AP Gov. Some also have 6th period athletic period. SO they teach 3 and coach 3 periods. 6th grade atletics is during the AP hour, so I will never be in that period.
