So golf is not a sport, but racquetball is. (by your definition) Correct

This is just the definition I came up with, not saying it is the end all be all definition. I do like the addition that to be a sport it has to be measurable.

Turns out you're both correct. If Tech did have a swim team, and they competed against time, it WOULD be a sport.

Don't you question Tap's authority on the legitimacy of a picture! Ex-coach cameraman, is the end all be all on photographic evidence. Shoot, they used him as an expert witness in the nikon vs. fujifilm trials of 1994.

Gymnastics, diving, etc are akin to the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. It's a contest (aka glorified beauty pageant that is judged). Give it a time limit and x number of completions and turn it into a competitive sport. I'm here, not hear, all week, not weak, to provide guidance and answers to life's serious questions. Yup! Anything judged invites corruption, also. Another reason that a true sport has to be measurable!

Positivism is a philosophical theory stating that certain ("positive") knowledge is based on natural phenomena and their properties and relations. Thus, information derived from sensory experience, interpreted through reason and logic, forms the exclusive source of all certain knowledge.[1] Positivism holds that valid knowledge (certitude or truth) is found only in this a posteriori knowledge. Well done, Bob. Those 4 conference periods are paying dividends.
