Golf and Raquetball or both measurable, they keep score against one another. I will also add, which I thought was assumed, that physical activity takes place (disqualifying chess). Car racing and Horse Racing are sports.....for cars and horses. Hum. The athlete in these are the car and the horse. Otherwise, all racers would ride the exact same car or horse.

Exact same horse? Seriously? Cars....ok, you may have a point, but looks to me like the mechanic and/or the guy that tells him when to make a pit stop is the MVP of those races.
But same horse? Are you talking about cloning?

Some events are timed (barrel racing)....again, most of the success depends on the animal, though. I think the roping is a timed event, and that's mostly the human, so that's cool. Bull and Bronc riding are timed, but then judged at the end....which makes that a contest, a contest between some crazy f@cker$!

Rodeo is a real mans/animals sport.

Definitely measurable. Kinda like pool, darts and shuffleboard. Doesn't take a great athlete, but plenty of skill and strategy. Needs more physical activity to be a true "sport" in my opinion. But Curling requires more activity than those I mentioned.

I would consider steer wrestling a sport. It's timed, and largely based on human achievement.
