So back to the way it was for the top 3 classes. 3A, I'm sure those guys would love that. Question is how are the guys in 2A and 1A gonna feel about it?
Also, the bottom tier 6A-1 teams should be rejoicing now.

Smaller schools will feel okay because it evens up the districts and you don't have an open district week. However, the OSSAA ballot sent out to membership keeps 6A-I and 6A-II at 16 teams/class. Also, Class A will be made up of 70 schools which means some 9 team districts. It is better than 7 team districts.

6A is going to stay split into div 1 and 2. This was the proposal put forth by the OFBCA. It will go back to the way it was for lower classifications. 64 for 2A and Everyone else in A. This is what the coaches from those classifications were asking for because of scheduling conflicts the last few years.
Also a task force so speak is being assembled to try to do something with our classification system in the next several years. It is a very difficult process to accomplish anything dealing with the AD's and then with the OSSAA, with very little feedback or transparency.

ossaa.net/docs/2015-16/Football/FB_2015-16_1617Classifications.pdf?id=601Look at how classes were broken up. I belive you will not have as many in class A as you are thinking. Class 3A now has 55 teams...meaning the bottom 23 will transfer down to join the top 41 schools in 2A. The bottom 14 from 2A join A, only making a class of 70. I did the math in my head, so I could have a huge error...if so, I am sure someone here will point it out. I believe it is much better than the system we have now. You need to have 8 team districts. Your class sizes need to be 16, 32, or 64. It makes sense to me. Anyone need a car?

The OFBCA never brought the plan to split 6a. That was done by the OSSAA. The fact that it is split is a total joke, in my opinion... But, that's neither here nor there..
As for the new plan, it will definitely help with scheduling and playoffs, but I don't think 3a coaches realize what is about to happen. The private school rule stays in tact, so many of the privates that are in 4a will most likely become 3a schools.

The rule says they go one class above their ADM.. They have 2a numbers in the new classification (Metro is one that could stay up).
